SMS Opt-In & Guest Communications
Place & Post is an event management and guest communication platform. Guests receive SMS messages only in connection with a specific event. This page explains how consent is collected and managed.
Consent Collection Methods
Place & Post collects SMS consent through two clearly defined methods. No SMS messages are sent without prior consent.
When an event host adds guests and selects SMS as the invitation channel, they are presented with a mandatory disclosure panel before any messages can be sent.
The host must acknowledge all of the following before dispatch:
- Place & Post will send transactional SMS messages including event invitations, RSVP confirmations, reminders, and day-of updates
- Frequency: Up to 3 messages per event
- Msg & data rates may apply
- Reply STOP to opt out · HELP for assistance

I confirm that I have an existing relationship with these recipients, have obtained their consent, and agree to the above message terms.
This consent attestation is required once per event before any SMS can be dispatched.
When a guest opens their personal RSVP portal, an unchecked-by-default SMS consent checkbox is displayed. The guest may optionally check the box to consent to SMS updates.
This checkbox is entirely optional. A guest may submit their RSVP without checking the box. If unchecked, the RSVP is saved and SMS dispatch for that guest is simply disabled.
⚠️ Consent is not required to submit an RSVP. Leaving the box unchecked simply disables SMS dispatch for that guest.

How Users Consent to SMS
Below is the exact consent interface users interact with before any SMS messages are sent. The opt-in checkbox is unchecked by default and must be actively selected. SMS cannot be dispatched until consent is recorded.
PlaceAndPost will send transactional SMS messages to your selected guests for this event, including:
- Event invitations with personal RSVP links
- RSVP confirmations
- Event reminders and day-of updates

⚠️ This checkbox is unchecked by default. The host must actively check it. The Dispatch button is disabled until express written consent is confirmed.
The SMS checkbox is optional and unchecked by default. The RSVP submit button is always enabled — consent is not required to complete an RSVP.
Leave unchecked to RSVP without SMS updates.
✅ RSVP button is always active. SMS consent is optional — checking the box opts the guest in to SMS updates only.
